Rob Jackson
Rob gets more done by 0900 hours than the average creative does in a day. This could be due to his military background, where he served as an illustrator for the U.S. Navy Sixth Fleet. Or it could be his time spent with legendary mentors like Lou Dorfsman and Milton Glaser, who never put in a single five-day work week. It’s probably a bit of both, and it’s definitely where the “extra” comes from.
Before his duty to his country was served, he completed his basic training at Kendall College of Art and Design, earning a B.F.A. in Illustration with a minor in mullet development. Always hungry for more, he then pursued his M.A. in Advertising Design from Syracuse University, with extended studies at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. If you’ve been wondering why the agency has an education theme, wonder no more.
Once his career started, the awards followed quickly (and plentifully). Winning everything from Communication Arts to Cannes Lions, he is a 21-time OBIE winner and a 58-time OBIE finalist, and under his guidance, ECP has won more than 300 local, regional and national ADDY awards, including numerous Judges Choices and Best in Show. He was named a Silver Medal Award recipient by the American Advertising Federation of West Michigan for lifetime achievement in the industry. In 2019, Jackson was awarded the Out of Home Advertising Association of America Ray L. Vahue Marketing Award of Merit, the outdoor industry’s top marketing award.
