Extra Credit Projects launched on April Fools’ Day 2006, but it was clear that this endeavor was no joke. We began tackling assignments for clients such as Anheuser-Busch and HarperCollins Publishing, in a studio loft with a leaky roof and spotty internet. The beginning may have been humble, but the future would become extraordinary.
Quickly gaining notoriety, winning awards, and garnering opportunities, the early years saw some major coups, including a Cannes Lion award and the beginning of some of our most important long-term client relationships. You could say we were the teacher’s pet of clients who appreciated our extra effort.
By our tenth anniversary, ECP had become the most-awarded agency in West Michigan—including an AAF Silver Medal Award for its principal. Fully embracing its love for media-centric ideas, Extra Credit Media was launched in 2015 for full-service media planning and buying for ECP clients and beyond.
Today Extra Credit Projects is a hybrid group of art directors, designers, copywriters, strategists, developers, and digital artists collaborating with partners locally, regionally, and nationally to develop brands, tell stories and create campaigns that drive positive and memorable results.
