ECP client, Gerald R. Ford International Airport, celebrates another record-breaking year

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GFIA) announced it once again surpassed its previous annual passenger record, with 4,303,696 guests flying through the Airport in 2025.

“The consistent growth we’ve seen over the past several years shows not only West Michiganders are on the move, but our region is a growing destination,” said President and CEO Tory Richardson. “Our team and partners are critical in the success we’ve seen. I thank them for their tireless work to create the best experience possible for everyone
who flies through Gerald R. Ford International Airport.”

In the fifth year of their partnership, Extra Credit Projects (ECP) and GFIA launched a year-long campaign to promote nonstop routes, airport amenities and parking services. Through an integrated multi-media approach, strategic creative messaging, and highly targeted advertising placements, more than 280 million impressions were delivered across
the greater West and Central Michigan markets.

But this isn’t the first year of success for ECP and GFIA. Year-over-year, the partnership has worked to increase passenger numbers since 2021. In 2024 the airport exceeded the four million passenger mark for the first time, and since 2021 passenger growth has increased 47%.
